Copyright? Patent? License?

i've just participated in a survey about Creative Commons Licenses. actually this is something i've missed. and i wonder if any of my friends here care or know about this issues. the protection of an invention starts when the invention first exist. so when the original artist published their song for the first time, the copyright will automatically belong to the artist. exclusive rights means the artist and the others who own the copyrights may copy, reproduce and sell the copies, import and export the creation, adapt the creation, publish the creation, sell or forward the exclusive rights to other party. so the registration of a creation is not a must, but the letter of registration can be an evidence in court if one day there's a case about the creation. i'm not really experienced in this, and i know how it feels when your tune is used by others without asking your permission.
